Green common

Green Common is a new chain of bio and vegan food stores with whom I have had the chance to collaborate this past summer. We first worked on the design of the entry wall of their new store located in Central. It is a beautiful space shared with the OVO group.

With this mural, we really wanted to give a more accessible and artistic dimension to the general image of the shop. I thought that a paint treatment and a reinterpretation of the leaves of their logo would be an interesting stance. And the Green Common team quickly agreed to it.

The installation took two days because we had to let each colour dry before working on the next one. We decided to use stencils to make sure the lines of the leaves looked perfect. Because we drew directly onsite, we were able to adjust the colours to the lighting for more accurate shades.

My second mission for Green Common was to come up with the illustrations appearing on the different signs inside the store.

From there, we developed a collection of posters already available for sale in both Green Common stores in Wanchai and Sheung Wan. These products will be available soon in our e-boutique so stay tuned. Here is a little glimpse!

As usual, the Hong Kongese teams were extremely helpful and courteous which made working in a noisy and dusty environment less demanding. A big thanks to the people of OVO and Green Common for their kindness and care.

Designs for cool kids

P1100539Our little ones are heading back to school and it might just be the perfect time to redecorate their room. Some of you might have already done just that but for those that are still contemplating different options, here are three rooms I designed this summer to help trigger your inspiration.

TITRES-09The first one is my son’s Aydan’s. He is five years old. The background was made with paint and masking tape. It is geometrical and so quite easy to draw and replicate. The stickers are from our dinosaures collection available in our e-shop right here.

The two following rooms were designed based on existing models. It is an ideal option for those wishing to do something special, yet tailor-made for their space and budget! It usually takes us no more than 7 to 10 days to come up with a design plan, which can later be followed by the installation (but not necessarily). We start by discussing the spirit of the room before deciding on the color of the background and selecting the theme of the room. So don’t hesitate to contact us to schedule a house visit, designing kids’ rooms is one of my favorite parts of my job!

TITRES-11For her big brother Aaron, we went with a combination of grey, peacock blue and orange. We added a touch of fun and color to the gray wall using a 2.5 meters long sticker from the “Plain is boring” collection. Different lengths (up to 3 meters) are now available in our boutique to better fit your spaces and furniture.

Pink concrete

Anita was looking for a special texture effect for her living room.
We started by making some samplings to define the desired effects and make sure the colors will match the furniture and fabrics.

The installation took us one and a half day for 12 square meters. I started by the grey base and added on the last layer some pink touches.
This kind of patines are very economical in paint and very green with “zero waste”!

Adele’s dreamy bedroom

P1090672

Adele is a lucky little 5 years old girl who has received for her birthday a bedroom make-over!
I’m always happy to work on girls’ room and I think that if I had a daughter her room would probably look just like this one ^^.

Adele was quite specific about what she likes. First, she asked for a little boy and girl kissing… hmmm mommy was not very ok with that and so we only kept  the romantic spirit from that idea. Then she said that she likes rabbits and the moon. I love so much working from kids’ ideas, it’s so refreshing and spontaneous.

Once the concept approved, we started working on the elevations of the room and the drawing details.

Veterinary referral hospital in Wanchai

post alane-05

This was my last project of 2014, but definitely not the least. Before ringing in the New Year, I tackled a wall decoration assignment for a new veterinary specialty hospital in Wanchai. I got really excited by my first “medical” project!

Alane asked me to spice up the space a little bit by working on a mural concept for the major wall of the clinic. She wanted to create a warm, inviting and relaxing atmosphere. So we decided to work on a vegetal and organic pattern with colours that match the neutral colour range of the clinic. We introduced touches of mint-blue-grey to create that relaxing vibe and mineral look and mixed with it yellow-ocre-earth colours to warm up the space.

post alane-01

I had two main constraints for this project: working on white laminated panels and using only washable and easy maintenance material. It became quickly obvious that wall stickers were our only option.

We wanted to develop some sort of tribal pattern. We found that traditional Japanese patterns were perfect for this project. We used them on a smaller scale to fill up our big shapes and bring texture to the murals.

An office in Chai Wan (4)

Hi Everyone!
Here is the 4th and final installment of my work for Newsprint Group. And this time, I want to share with you the murals.
In order to match with the industrial spirit of the space while bringing some touches of color, we decided to add large paint streaks on some strategic walls. So instead of working on detailed patterns, we privileged texture and color by creating monumental paintings.
newsprint5

We selected three walls:
- the wall facing the elevators,
- the wall shared by the welcome desk and the finance department,
- and the wall of the meeting room.

Here are some picture of the final result.

I’m very happy to introduce to you the new Hoplababy pop up store hosted by  La boutique Troizenfants.

When Elodie, founder of the Hoplababy e-shop, asked me to help her come up with a concept for a retail space, I was immediately seduced by the project. We decided to work on an animal and party themed design.hoplababy_concept-02hoplababy_concept-04

The Minifab project

logo-minifabP1070281

I have been dying to talk to you about this particular project!
Minifab is the new distributor in Hong Kong of the Australian brands Seedling & Stuck-on-you. I was asked to develop an original design for their entrance hall and playroom/showroom/meeting room, adding fun and functional furniture and wall art.
Minifab is not just a toy store, it is also a creativity laboratory for children. A space where they will be inspired to let their imagination loose. And with that in mind, we decided to adopt the “collage” technique as a graphic base.

The playroom will host different events, from birthdays to handicrafts workshops. We therefore created modular furniture, allowing a variety of configurations according to the number of participants and their ages.

I would like to thank all the members of the Minifab team who have been amazing throughout this process and very welcoming during the setup. Special thanks go to Jenny & Ellen with whom I had worked last year on a few design projects. It was an absolute bliss to collaborate with both of you again.
